Welcome to McMurchie Lane Antiques
We are located in the heart of downtown Smithville, Ontario
at 103 McMurchie Lane
You can find McMurchie Lane West off Griffin Street (Hwy. 20) between Hodgkins Hardware and Kalinka Sports.

The town of Smithville has completed a study for suggestions on how to draw new customers to the downtown core.    One of the suggestions was that an Antique store was needed.  Antique stores draw new customers and tourists from near and far.   So in 2009 we purchased a building in Smithville on McMurchie Lane to start up our own Antique Shop and hopefully help bring needed new people to the town to shop.  McMurchie Lane is a small road (previously a farm laneway) that cannot be found on electronic maps so we decided to name our business using the Lane name so people will associate the address with our new shop.

We have been in the Antique Business since 1995 originally operating under the name "Vintage Vogue".  We have been in many Antique co-ops and multi-dealer shops over the past many years and have been proud participants in the Christie Antique Shows since 1999.    Now called McMurchie Lane Antiques, we are located in the downtown core of Smithville, Ontario at 103 McMurchie Lane.  You can find McMurchie Lane West off Griffin Street (Hwy. 20) between Hodgkins Hardware and Kalinka Sports.

We opened our shop in late March 2009 and already have a good base of regular local customers.  Tourists and out-of-towners are slowly starting to find us as well.  It takes time for any new business to become known so we keep plugging along with advertising and word of mouth.     Hopefully we can do our part to bring business to the downtown core!

McMurchie Lane Antiques are an official sponsor of this years Poultry Fest taking place on June 27th and in celebration of this year's 10th anniversary of the Poultry Fest, we will be having a one day sale during the festival.    With so many people in town that day, we are hoping some new people will find our little out of the way shop!

We offer a wide variety of inventory from Vintage and Antique furniture, garden accessories, architectural pieces, linens and textiles, pottery, farm collectibles, glassware, china, pottery and much more.   We carry a wide variety of items to suit every style so whether you are an avid antique buyer, a collectibles buyer or just want to decorate your house with antique, vintage, shabby or elegant furnishings and accessories from decorating magazines and T.V. shows, we're sure you will find something special in our store!  Even if you think you don't like Antiques, check us out, we have a wide variety of decorative, fun and interesting items in the store.    It's not a "stuffy" store, and we have been told our prices are very reasonable for the merchandise we carry.

When is the last time you made a stop in downtown Smithville?   If recently, I hope you enjoyed one of the new shops in town or reacquainted yourself with the shops that have been here for years.   If it has been a while, plan some time to visit.   Besides my antique store, Smithville has a great shop serving sweets, coffee, ice cream and more called "The Sweet Spot".   There is a fabulous home decorating and accessories store called Serendipity - who relocated to Smithville from Vineland.   Almatay's is a reasonably new addition to town, located in the Giant Tiger Plaza, they have wonderful home cooked food including pastas, sandwiches, daily specials and much more at reasonable prices -  a great alternative to the typical "fast food" menu but it is served fresh, fast and fabulous.   Spend a few minutes talking to the owner/chef and you will see how passionate he is about his food.   Of course we have the Smithville Farmers Market, now open every Saturday in the downtown core as well.  We have spas and nail salons, hair stylists, a flower shop with a great selection of fresh flowers and gifts.  Did you know Smithville has a sports store?  Downtown we have a hardware store which is in a great historical building with old creaky wooden floors and the ambience of an earlier day family owned business.   We have Financial Services, Accounting Services, a Community Care store selling a variety of items in support of West Lincoln Community Care.  We have pizzerias and a takeout Chinese food restaurant with really good food, honest!  As well, there are all the amenities such as banks, churches, a pharmacy, grocery store, and many more stores in the Giant Tiger Plaza.   And yes, we have a Tim Hortons,  a Liquor Store and a Beer Store.

On behalf of all the Smithville merchants, we hope to see you soon!
